Sunday August 21, 2005, Hands of Hope International was recognized at the Warsaw Community Church (WCC).  Balloons were placed in the front of the church.  The one hundred forty-one balloons represented the number of people who accepted the Lord on the July 2005 Hands of Hope trip. 

July was an amazing trip.  Twenty-eight people from Illinois, Ohio, and Indiana ranging in ages from 13 to 65 traveled together to Guatemala. 

We were able to see 1073 people at the clinics.  One elderly man came to our clinic with pain in his foot.  Once our medical team cleaned a wound and treated it, he thought that he could walk home.  How incredible it was that this man traveled over four hours on a hurting foot and didn't expect to be helped home.  It took our team over an hour to drive him home over rugged and mountainous land. 

In the nutrition site, over one ton of Incaparina (a nutritional supplement) and black beans were given out. In the children' services, over 1000 salvation bracelets were given to the children as they played games, romped and giggled all day with us.

During the trip, we were also the special guests of the Mayor in Antigua.  He and his wife invited us to an opening of a new community center and we were the first group who worked in their building.
